I graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Communications and started a graphic design business with a classmate.  Since our clients were small businesses with low budgets we handled most of the illustration chores in house. Our minors in fine art helped in this area.

After a couple of years I realized I enjoyed drawing more than design so I headed off to Art Center College and studied illustration.

After graduation I began a career in freelance art that continues today. Over the years my work has evolved from a stylized realism (influenced heavily by my original interest in graphic design ) to a more humorous, cartoon approach that never stops being fun. Maybe the best thing about freelance illustration is the variety of assignments. Whether its a simple figure or a complex city street view the challenge is always to make each piece at least a little better than the previous one.

When Im not illustrating I like oil painting, golf and surfing. I live in Redondo Beach, CA with my wife and two daughters.
