I was bornin a hospital in The Hague in 1962. As with many illustrators, my first memories areof me drawing things. Not only on paper but on walls, floors, furniture.... Myparents were not that fond of my drawing on other things then paper, but theylet me do it.

After myhigh school in Eindhoven, I studied to be a primary school teacher and taught for16 years. I was the colleague that could draw and did so for all the school.

Then Idecided that the education world was not my world and became a freelance illustrator.That is what I am still today!

I work in alittle studio in my house. Paper has changed into a wacom cintiq21 display andmy paint has changed to corel painter, I work digitally! Besides drawing Iwill visit schools and try to give the children a good feeling for their own drawing abilities. My years as a teacher makes that an easy and very fun job to do!

Drawingis what I like most. I enjoy drawing situations that are funny and where kids can easily identify with.  I think I know thechildren's world very well and I am able to visualize it!
